Workshop with Kathy Osborne on Free Motion Quilting

Sunday 19th April (2-4pm) and Sunday 10th May (10am-2pm) at Aston Village Hall, New Park Lane, Aston, Herts. SG2 7DY(10am – 4pm). Cost £26 for members, to include Parts 1 and 2.
To book, please contact Deborah.

Kathy’s Workshop will teach how to design and stitch your own modern whole cloth quilt (big or small, don’t panic!) using a walking foot and free motion quilting.

Part 1: A two hour session to get you started, Sunday 19th April, 2-4pm.

Then you go away and practise ………

Part 2: A 4 hour session on Sunday 10th May,  10-2pm.

This would be a brilliant opportunity for our newer members to help build confidence with quilting ( it’s not patchwork) and machine skills. Kathy is a skilled Teacher and has her own Group in St Albans.

Workshop with AitchBee of Little Patch Pockets on Miniature Quilts

Tuesday 2nd June (10am-4pm) at Woolmer Green Village Hall, Hall Lane, Woolmer Green, Herts SG3 6XA. To book, please contact Deborah.

The cost is £38 per head. If you haven’t already signed up we have a few spaces left, but secure your place by paying please. BACs to Mimram Quilters, id with your name + HB so we can monitor who’s paid.

She has kindly sent some beautiful samples of what she’ll be teaching, which will be on display during our meetings.

This is what she says:

“The largest of the quilts shows all 20 of the blocks included in this miniature workshop pattern. Students will get information on how to make this layout as well as many others. I will show and discuss other uses and ways of finishing miniature blocks. For members who might not feel ready to tackle the really small stuff, I’ve included samples of my ‘Not quite so miniature’ versions. Although still made by Foundation Paper Piecing, their larger size may be less daunting. The larger pattern includes the same twenty blocks, and I will carry enough of both versions for all the students. Full instructions will be given for my method of FPP.”
